On August 2nd Company 5 responded to a vehicle accident along Interstate 80 Westbound near the mile marker of 115. While enroute crews came across a second vehicle accident as a result of the traffic backlog. A Harley Davidson motorcycle lost control after attempting to slow down in stopped traffic. Crews provided medical attention until EMS arrived on scene. Units then responded to the original vehicle accident in which a tractor trailer lost control and struck an embankment along the roadway. The driver of that vehicle was later flown by medical helicopter from the scene.
