On Thursday at approximately 0200hrs Company 5 responded to a two vehicle accident along Interstate 80 near mile marker 115 Westbound. Upon arriving on scene crews encountered a rear end collision involving two tractor trailers with heavy damage to one unit. Crews assisted EMS with a single patient that had moderate injuries. The patient was flown from the scene by Geisinger Lifeflight II. Crews remained on scene providing traffic control and scene cleanup. Expect Interstate 80 Westbound to remain closed for an extended period of time before a single lane will be opened.
