On April 24th around 16:00hrs, Company 5 was dispatched to a reported smoke investigation in the area of Appalachian Wood Products in the industrial park of our first due area. Upon arrival of Lawrence township Police, they confirmed a working fire inside a piece of machinery which was full of sawdust inside the building on the Charlie side. Captain 5 as the responding officer upgraded the assignment to add companies 1,6,7, and 8 for additional resources. Engine 5 arrived on scene pulling the front bumper line and had a quick knock on the small fire inside. The assignment was quickly scaled back to company 5 and 6 and units operated for almost 2 hours while ventilating the building.
