At 5:51pm Company 5 was alerted for a vehicle accident at the address of 201 Race Street. Initial reports indicated a commercial tractor trailer into a residence with unknown entrapment. Chief 5 along with Rescue 5 responded within minutes and arrived on scene to find the driver of the tractor trailer heavily entrapped. The occupants of the residence were not home at the time.

After an approximate 1.5 hr extrication with assistance from multiple fire agencies the driver was successfully extricated and turned over to EMS care. He was then flown from Penn Highlands Clearfield.

Company 5 would like to thank all responding departments for their assistance at this call especially during the Clearfield County Fair. Some local residents may remember this area for the same type of incident in 2007.
