On 10/09/2026, Company 5 was alerted to a multi-vehicle accident on I-80 westbound near mile marker 111. Initial reports indicated multiple vehicles involved and the roadway blocked.

Assistant 5 and Rescue 5 were the first units to arrive on the scene, finding multiple heavily damaged vehicles with multiple occupants entrapment. A toal of five patients were involved, and crews from Rescue 5 began extrication operations. Firefighters remained on scene for several hours, conducting extrication, fluid control, and traffic control before turning the scene over to the Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) and PennDOT.
