On October 17th, Company 5 was alerted for a motor vehicle accident along Interstate 80 near MM116. Initial reports indicated a tractor trailer down through the guide rails and down over an embankment. The 911 callers were unable to stop.

Rescue 5 and Command 5 responded arriving on scene to confirm the initial reports. Crews found the driver was self extricated after traveling down a 150ft embankment. Crews assisted with extricating the driver from the woods and patient treatment. Crews provided fluid mitigation and scene lighting until towing could arrive.
