On April 4th, Company 5 was alerted to a working vehicle fire in the area of 114 mile marker of Interstate 80. Initial reports indicated a passenger car with smoke coming from under the hood. Deputy 5 went enroute and 911 dispatch advised of multiple calls reporting the vehicle to be fully engulfed.
Shortly after, Engine, Rescue, and Squad 5 responded. Engine 5 arrived and stretched a line to extinguish the fire. The Interstate was shut down for a short time and eventually opened up to one lane. No injuries we reported and units cleared after about an hour.
