On March 3rd at approximately 10:50 pm Company 5 was dispatched to a working structure fire along old S.R. 153 near the Four Mile Road. Initial reports indicated a DCNR facility was to be on fire.

Deputy 5 responded arriving on the scene to confirm heavy fire with exposures. Crews from Engine 5 along with additional units arrived on scene placing multiple hand lines into service to extinguish the fire. Units operated on scene for over 3 hours before returning to service. A special thank you to Sykesville Fire Department for transferring and providing protection to Lawrence Township while crews operated. The cause of the fire is still under investigation and is being handled by the PSP Fire Marshal.
